Dantewada, Pala, Badharghat and Hamirpur Bypoll Results: The Election Commission on Friday announced the results of the Assembly bypolls held in Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh on September 23. While Congress bagged Chhattisgarh's Dantewada, the LDF won Pala in Kerala and the BJP secured the Hamirpur Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh. In Hamirpur, BJP’s Yuvraj Singh emerged victorious by defeating Samajwadi Party’s Manoj Prajapati, Congress's Hardeepak Bishad and Naushad Ali of the Bahujan Samaj Party.

NCP leader Mani C Kappan, who was backed by the LDF, has claimed victory in the Pala by-election. Kappan leads by more than 2000 votes with eight booths left to be counted, according to Indian Express. Kappan thanked the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, leaders of the CPM and other allies for campaigning for him. Jose K Mani, of the Kerala Congress (M), has said he would accept the mandate of the people. "We will examine the reasons for the defeat," he added.

Dantewada Assembly Bypoll Results: Congress and the BJP are eyeing victory in the Dantewada assembly bypoll in Chhattisgarh. The ruling Congress and main opposition BJP are locked in a direct fight in this Naxal-hit seat where bypoll was necessitated after the death of sitting BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi in a Maoist attack in April this year. The voter turnout in the bypoll in Dantewada, a seat reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates, was 60.59 per cent.
Nine contestants are in the fray but the main fight is between the Congress and the BJP. BJP has fielded Ojaswi Mandavi, the wife of Bhima Mandavi and the Congress candidate is Devti Karma, whose husband Mahendra Karma was killed in the Jhiram Valley Naxal attack in 2013.
Pala Assembly Bypoll Results: The result of the Pala assembly constituency in Kerala is expected to be a litmus test for the ruling CPIM-led LDF after its rout in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. The by-election was necessitated by the death of formerfinance minister and Kerala Congress (M) supremo K M Mani, whohad held the constituency for more than five decades.
A win for LDF, Congress-led UDF or BJP-headed NDA would boost the three major combines prospects in the by-elections to five more assembly constituencies scheduled for October 21. Around 72 per cent of the 1.79 lakh voters have exercisedtheir franchise in the by-election in which 13 candidates werein the fray.
Badharghat Assembly Bypoll Results: Around 79 per cent of theelectorate had exercised their franchise in the by-election to theBadharghat Assembly seat. The by-election to the Badharghat constituency was necessitated due to the death of ruling BJP MLA Dilip Sarkar in April this year. The BJP has fielded Mimi Majumder for the seat while Bulti Biswas is the CPI (M) candidate. Ratan Das is the Congress candidate.
Hamirpur Assembly Bypoll Results: Around 51 per cent voters of Hamirpur assembly segment had exercised their franchise on Monday. The by-election was necessitated due to the disqualification of sitting BJP MLA Ashok Kumar Singh Chandel following his conviction in a murder case. Nine candidates are in the poll fray and prominent among them are Yuwraj Singh (BJP), Hardeepak Nishad (Congress), Manoj Kumar Prajapati (SP), Naushad Ali (BSP) and Jamal Alam Mansoori (Communist Party of India).
