On the way to the Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand on Friday, many pilgrims were stranded due to landslide as a key road in Chamoli ditrict of Uttarakhand was blocked by a huge rock that rolled down the hills, according to officials.
In the Himalayan state, landslides and flashfloods are common. In the year 2013, 5000 people were killed due to heavy rains and a surge was triggered in Kedarnath valley. Even some of the bodies were not found at that time.
