Driver hits man, keeps speeding for 3 km with body on roof

In a bizarre case of hit-and-run, a speeding car hit a man on a highway in Mahbubnagar area of Telangana and then continued running for around 3 kilometres with the body on its roof. The incident took place on Monday night.

The locals eventually stopped the driver, identified as Rajashree Reddy, but he managed to escape. The victim, 38-year-old Srinivasulu, was a labourer.

He was hit by a red Chevrolet car coming from Kurnool while he was crossing the road near a bus stand at around 8:30 pm on Monday. He flung in the air and thrown on the roof of the car after being hit.

The driver did not stop and instead accelerated and kept speeding until some bikers spot the car and informed the police.

"We received information that a car carrying a dead body on its top was going towards Hyderabad," said a senior police officer.
When the locals and police tried to catch the driver, he fled after jumping out of the car. According to the police, the car belongs to a Hyderabad industrialist.
