What is use of thrashing people caught with cows in truck: Raman Singh

New Delhi:

Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh on Sunday questioned cow vigilantes, saying how beating up people, who caught with cows, serves the purpose of cow protection. 

He said it is seen that when 8-10 cows are caught in the truck, cow vigilantes or group of people set the truck on fire or beat up the driver. 

"What's the use of beating him up?" he asked. 

Singh said such people need not have to carry the cows on trucks if people keep their cows at home. He said,"We call cows 'Gau Mata' but we must see how we treat them."

The chief minister said that the government will deploy10 ambulances to cater to cows and will initiate this from 10 districts in the initial phase. 

He further added, “We aim to inspect cow sheds and top-10 cowsheds will be provided with extra Rs 10 Lakh every year.”
