Chhattisgarh Police on Wednesday busted a Naxal camp in Sukma and recovered improvised explosive devices (IED) and bomb making material enough to blow off a company for security forces.

A senior officer of Chhattisgarh Police said, “We have recovered IEDs weighing from 5 kilograms to 100 kilograms.”

The officer added that if the Maoists had succeeded to use the recovered IEDs against security forces, ‘it could had severely damaged a company of security personnel.’

The officer added that joint security forces raided Jongras forest under Kukanar police station limits on Wednesday morning. The operation was conducted on intelligence inputs.

“After a brief encounter Maoists escaped from their camp taking benefit of the dense jungle,” said a senior officer/

Security forces have recovered codex wires, explosive materials, Naxal uniforms and day to day use material from the busted Maoist camp.
