A CPI-Maoist cadre was gunned down by joint security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Tuesday.
Chhattisgarh Police said, “Maoist cadre was shot dead during a gun battle which took place between joint security forces and Naxals near Duled village under Chintalnar police station limits.”
Police further added, a combing operation was launched by state police and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) in forested area near Duled village, around 500 kilometers from the state capital, Raipur.
A senior CRPF official said, “The Maoists opened fire at the joint security forces. Jawans took their position and retaliated.”

He added, “The gun battle between security forces and Naxals lasted for an hour. Body of a Maoist cadre was recovered during search operation launched after the encounter.”

Security forces have intensified combing operations in Maoist bastions across the nation. Naxals are observing People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week.
