Delhi: Hon'ble Dr. Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, in the august presence of Hon’ble Companion Judges of the Supreme Court of India, Sri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Ministry of Ayush and Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, Minister of State for Ministry of Ayush and for Ministry of Women And Child Development, inaugurated an ayurvedic wellness centre by the name of ‘Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre’ on Thursday, 22nd February, 2024 in E-Block, Additional Building Complex of the Supreme Court of India. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary and other senior officers of the Ministry of Ayush; Prof.(Dr.) Tanuja Nesari, Director and other senior faculty members of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) were present at the occasion.
On the occasion CJI DY Chandrachud said, "For me, this is a satisfying moment. I have been working on this ever since I took over as CJI. I am a proponent of Ayurveda and holistic lifestyle. We have over 2000 staff members, and we must look at a holistic pattern of living, not just for the judges and their immediate families but for the staff members too... I am deeply grateful to all the doctors at Ayush... We are unveiling this to the Supreme Court and through it to the entire nation..."
The facility has been set up with the active participation of the All India Institute of Ayurveda under the aegis of the Ministry of Ayush. The Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre in the Supreme Court premises is a state-of-the-art facility providing holistic care addressing physical, mental and emotional well-being, promoting overall health of the Hon’ble Judges and staff of the Supreme Court of India.
“The Ayush wellness centre at Supreme Court is an initiative of Supreme Court of India in collaboration with the All-India Institute of Ayurveda under Ministry of Ayush. The AllA has extended its centres at many places like LABSNA, Safadarjung, IIT, etc.in the same way we have one more add on which is a holistic and integrated centre for the Judiciary, Judges and other staff of the Supreme Court, it is like we are now at your door step. Under one umbrella we are providing all the facilities of Ayurveda,” said Prof. Dr Tanuja Nesari, Director AIIA
On this occasion, an MoU regarding establishing, operationalizing and providing expert services at the Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre was also signed between the Supreme Court and the All-India Institute of Ayurveda.
