CII and MyySports have come together to launch the Indian Corporate Cricket League, or ICCL, which will be the nation's biggest Corporate Cricket League yet. ICCL, in its maiden year, will feature over 85 matches across five states - Tamil Nadu, Delhi/NCR, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Corporate cricket teams from these states will participate in T10 matches at the regional level, and winners of each region will then pit their skills against each other in the hopes of bagging the ICCL trophy. The primary objective of this initiative is to provide a platform for the best amateur cricketing talent to showcase their skills and promote sportsmanship.
It gives a fantastic opportunity for corporate players to indulge their passion for cricket in a professional set-up and gain recognition usually reserved for the more famous cricket players. This is an excellent platform for corporate partners to promote fitness and build team spirit within their organisation. Mr Anupam Goswami, CEO – Mashal Sports & league commissioner of PKL, spoke about the event.
He said, "There are many corporate tournaments, but the way this particular tournament has been conceived and organised, it has all the potential to become a high-class and tense competition. The finals are going to be especially exciting. We see this as a sustainable programme and will return year-on-year."
