The girl, who had suffered 90 per cent burn injuries, died late night.

At the hospital where the victim was rushed, she told the police that she knew the three boys who poured kerosene and set her on fire after raping her.

"We have recorded a dying declaration... Based on that two of the accused have been caught; they will be produced in court today," Shankar Raimedhi, Superintendent of Police, Nagaon, told an English leading daily.

A medical test to confirm rape could not be conducted "due to the severity of the injuries," Mr. Raimedhi added.

Meanwhile, police have arrested two accused in connection with the case.
