CM Khandu suspended from People's Party of Arunachal, barred from exercising powers of leader of legislature party

In yet another chapter of ongoing political turmoil in the Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, the ruling People's Party of Arunachal has suspended the primary membership of chief minister Pema Khandu and six others.

In yet another chapter of ongoing political turmoil in the Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, the ruling People's Party of Arunachal has suspended the primary membership of chief minister Pema Khandu and six others. 

According to reports, the party is miffed at the CM Khandu for letting the influence of Bhartiya Janta Party dominate over the PPA agenda. 

The chief minister and his associated have been "suspended with immediate effect pending drawl of disciplinary proceedings," the report read, "Khandu, therefore, ceases to be the leader of legislature party."

The suspension thereby means that Khadu is temporarily barred from exercising his power and function as LPL (PPA).

CM Khandu
