Communists, Congress wiped out, BJP will form govt in Tripura: Amit Shah

Riding high on 'Modi wave', BJP President Amit Shah Saturday reached Tripura on a two-day visit.

Taking jibe on "Congress and Communists," a confident Shah said, “while Communists have been wiped out in the world, Congress has been wiped out in India and they are our rivals. I am sure BJP will form the next government in the state."

Shah will also launch the 'Parivartan Yatra' to start BJP's poll campaign in Tripura, as the state will go to the polls next year.

Tripura has been ruled continuously by the Left Front since 1993 and BJP is eying another North Eastern state after forming governments in Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.

Hailing PM Narendra Modi, Shah even went on to call Modi, a bigger leader than Vajpayee and Indira Gandhi.

"I think Narendra Modi has become the most favorite leader since Independence. The public support can be gauged through the recent election wins in multiple states, he said."

Interestingly, Less than a week after the BJP formed government in neighboring Manipur, the entire state unit of the Trinamool Congress in Tripura had joined the BJP.
