With Nitish Kumar’s resignation as Bihar Chief Minister, the season of political feud struck again and this time it has grasped the anti-BJP grand alliance of JDU-RJD and Congress.
The development has raised happy hormones in national and state BJP leaders and the party is looking to redeem the chances of forming a government in Bihar.
The BJP after its MLAs meeting expressed full confidence in Nitish Kumar and announced unconditional support to JDU.Â
BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi were quick to react on Nitish’s resignation. Minutes after the news broke out, PM Modi on his twitter handle welcomed his decision to quit the post and “join the fight against corruption.â€

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was quick to respond to the development and termed Nitish-Lalu alliance a mismatch. It seems, Prasad already knew what he would say if such thing happens.
Prasad hinted BJP’s deep interest in an alliance with JDU to form the government in Bihar.
“Nitish will have to find a way ahead,†he said adding “if Nitish asks for support, then we will think over it.â€
Bihar leader Sushil Modi also expressed his happiness over the resignation of Nitish Kumar and said Nitish compromise on corruption.
“We are happy that Bihar CM didn't compromise on the issue of corruption and did not kneel down before RJD,†said Sushil Modi.
However, he also maintained that his party is not in the favour of mid-term elections in Bihar and BJP has constituted a three-member committee for making a future plan of action.Â
“We are not in favour of mid-term elections in Bihar, a 3 member committee has been constituted for making the future plan of action,†said Sushil Kumar Modi.
Meanwhile, the Congress which is also a partner of grand alliance urged JDU to not part ways and said the people of Bihar have given a 5-year mandate to “Mahagathbandhan†and it should be respected.
"Mahagathbandhan was given a 5-year mandate by people of Bihar. We shall continue to strive the mandate given is fully respected," said Congress spokesperson R Surjewala.
