Ajay Maken hasn't resigned as Delhi Congress president, on medical leave, confirms Congress

The Indian National Congress on Tuesday denied reports of Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken resigning and said that Maken has taken a medical leave for a check-up due to some health issues and will be back as soon as possible. The Congress further said that Maken recently met party president Rahul Gandhi and party in-charge of Delhi affairs PC Chacko.

“Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken has not resigned. He has some health issues and has gone for a check-up. He will be back soon. He had recently met party President Rahul Gandhi and party incharge of Delhi affairs PC Chacko, said Congress,” as per news agency ANI.

According to earlier reports, Rahul Gandhi was yet to accept the resignation letter sent by Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken.

Earlier reports claimed that Maken had left the post of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief and left for a medical check-up in a foreign country.
