Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Punjab President and Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann accused the Congress government of being disrespectful towards the mandate given by the people of Punjab in 2017 and said that any promise made to the people of Punjab are not fulfilled. The Congress party has no further moral right to seek votes from the people of the state. Mr. Mann said that Congressmen had not done anything in Punjab in last five years apart from debauchery, mafia rule and their internal strife. That is why today 75 per cent of Punjab, belonging to different sections, is staging strikes on roads, squares, water tanks and towers.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here on Friday, Bhagwant Mann said, the government has become a spectacle because Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi does not get along with Sunil Jakhar. Sunil Jakhar does not get along with Partap Singh Bajwa. Bajwa with Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Randhawa with Navjot Singh Sidhu and Navjot Sidhu doesn’t get along with anyone. '' During the press conference, Punjab Affairs In-charge Jarnail Singh, Party Spokesperson Neel Garg and Malwinder Singh Kang were also present. Mann further said that the Congress had appointed senior leader Ambika Soni as the chairperson of the coordination committee when there is not even a possibility of coordination in the Congress. The Congress leaders fighting among themselves cannot give a better future to Punjab and its people.

Bhagwant Mann said, "I, as the state president of AAP and Opposition front, claim that the Congress party has trampled on the mandate of the people of Punjab, an example of which cannot be found anywhere else. The Congress has also made a mockery of the government. No one knows who is running the government in Punjab. Officers are transferred overnight. The AG and DGP have been changed twice in few days.”

Replying to a query, Bhagwant Mann said that the Congress government was changing dates and running away from holding a meeting with the farmers, laborers and employees, because Congress had failed to deliver on its promises of justice in Guru Granth Sahib’s sacrilege issue, debt waiver of farmers and laborers. No action was taken in drug, sand, liquor, cable, transport and power mafia let alone their promise to employee people from every household. He lashed out at the Congress government saying only Ali Baba has been changed, not 40 thieves. The sand mafia is still operating openly in the Chief Minister's constituency. Journalists are not even allowed to visit these pits because all congress leaders are part of such mafias.

Criticizing the actions of the Congress ministers, Bhagwant Mann said that Raja Warring was also taking action against the transport mafia to get applause. Home Minister Sukhi Randhawa is suspending police officers at checkpoints. Moreover, Chief Ministers is running away from the decision to make teachers permanent because he himself is a temporary Chief Ministers. Mann said that no one in the Congress government is taking decisions at the official level and implementing them in reality. Their government is like a bus without a driver, it is not known where it will fall.
