Congress hits back on Modi’s ‘bail gadi’ jibe, terms BJP ‘jail gadi’

New Delhi:

Congress on Saturday hit back hard at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “bail gadi” remark and termed the BJP “jail gadi”. Modi, during a rally in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, had called Congress party a “bail gadi” as many of its leaders were out on bail.

Reacting to this, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad said that going by Modi’s logic, the BJP should be called “jail gadi” as at least two of its president (a former and current) had gone to jail on court’s order.

“PM Modi called Congress “Bail Gaari” bcoz some Congress leaders are on Bail. By this logic he should call his own party BJP, “Jail Gaari”. At least two National Presidents of BJP, both past&present were in Jail by court’s order,” Ahmad tweeted.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal coined a new term for the Modi government – “Lynch-Pujari”. Sibal’s remark came after Union Minister Jayant Sinha garlanded eight people convicted for lynching a man on suspicion on carrying cow beef.

“Eight accused convicted for lynching are garlanded by Jayant Sinha when granted bail. You got it wrong Modiji. They say your Government has become: Lynch-Pujari,” Sibal tweeted.
