Maharashtra Congress leader Narayan Rane on Thursday resigned from the party.
Rane had announced that he will reveal his future plans on September 21 after meeting reporters at Kudal in Konkan region of Maharashtra.
He was not pleased with the state leadership of the Grand old party and decided to move on. It is believed that he may join BJP, but did not get any assurance from the saffron party yet.
It is said that Rane also wants his two sons to join the BJP.
Rane was furious after Maharashtra state Congress chief and former chief minister Ashok Chavan had dissolved the Sindhudurg district Congress committee.
The committee had office bearers who were close to Rane. Later, Chavan had appointed a new committee which irked the leader.
Rane was also part of Shiv Sena but his ambitions had coerced him to leave the party and he had joined Congress.
