Cop shot dead by gunmen in South Kashmir's Bijbehara
A policeman was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Friday shot dead in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
According to reports, the cop was appointed as Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Sajad Mufti.
Sajad is a cousin of PDP chief and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. He was offering prayers at a masjid when the attack took place and the cop was standing guard outside.

Some reports claim that the service rifle as per reports his services rifle was snatched by the attackers.
Earlier on Sunday, two people were injured in a blast in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district.
"The blast occurred in Adigam village in which two people were injured. They were evacuated to a hospital for treatment," a police spokesman said.
He said a case has been registered and investigation launched into the circumstances in which the blast occurred.
