A girl student has tested positive for novel coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Sunday, the news agency PTI quoted an official as saying. It is to be noted that this is the first positive case of novel coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh.
Bhopal Commissioner Kalpana Shrivastava said that the sample of a girl student, who recently returned to the state capital from outside, has tested positive. She further stated that a 74-hour lockdown, till midnight March 24, has been announced in Bhopal to break the chain of coronavirus.
"We are taking all precautions to ensure safety of the citizens and there is no need to panic," PTI quoted Kalpana Shrivastava as saying.
Earlier today, section 144 was imposed in Delhi and Maharashtra due to the coronavirus outbreak. The death count in India has reached 7 due to the COVID-19. It is to be noted that the first confirmed positive case for coronavirus was reported on January 30 in Kerala. And now, the positive cases for coronavirus in India have crossed 350-mark.
The total number of coronavirus positive patients in Maharashtra has risen to 74 with 10 more positive cases reported in the last 24 hours. On Saturday, a 63-year-old patient lost his life in a private hospital in Mumbai. The patient had a chronic history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and ischemic heart disease. He developed acute respiratory distress syndrome. Importantly, this is a second death reported in Maharashtra due to coronavirus.

It is worth mentioning here that the novel coronavirus, which originated in China, has claimed thousands of lives across the world. With no known cure so far for the coronavirus, the deadly disease has become a major issue for the entire world.
