Union minister Nitin Gadkari said here that the government adopted an integrated economic approach which resulted in the economy growing to 7.9 per cent and the agricultural growth pulling out of a “negative situation”.
“The agricultural growth is now pegged at 2.4 per cent...earlier it was pegged at .2 per cent...the situation was negative,” he said briefing reporters of the resolutions adopted by the BJP National Executive.
He said while during the previous UPA rule, there were 3.5 crore bank accounts, but following the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, the number of account holders have jumped to 21.80 crore, with several of them availing facilities such as debit card and accident insurance.
