Senior Congress leader Ashok Chavan on Monday said that the on-going turmoil in the Samajwadi Party is an internal matter and that it will be sorted out.
“This is an internal matter of the Samajwadi Party. We are like-minded parties. The SP also fights communal forces and we are also fighting them. I understand that turmoil will be sorted out,” the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president said.
The ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday split down the middle with the faction headed by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav removing Mulayam Singh Yadav as party chief and appointing him in his place at a convention in which the group claimed support of the majority of legislators and district units.
