US President Donald Trump will attend “Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures” mega diaspora event in Houston to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 22, the White House said on Sunday.  The event is expected to be gathering of 50,000 people. “Howdy”, short for ‘How do you do?’, is a friendly greeting commonly used in southwestern United States. Curfew Reimposed In J-K’s Kishtwar After Death Of Hurriyat Leader

Curfew was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar after prominent leader of banned Jamaat-e-Islami Ghulam Nabi Gundana passed away at a hospital in Punjab on Sunday after prolonged illness. He was also affiliated to the Hurriyat Conference. Gundana, who was a retired government teacher, had undergone a surgery and was spared arrest during a major crackdown on the JeI leadership on March 2. Read more…

Supreme Court To Hear Pleas Against Abrogation Of Article 370

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear pleas challenging abrogation of provisions of Article 370- which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, validity of imposition of President's rule and the related restrictions imposed in the state on Monday. A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices SA Bobde and S Abdul Nazeer will be hearing a bunch of fresh petitions, including the one filed by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad seeking permission to visit his family members and relatives. US Citizens Detained For Flying Drone Near Rashtrapati Bhavan

Delhi Police have taken a father-son duo from the US into custody for flying drone near Rashtrapati Bhavan.They were detained on Saturday evening for allegedly flying a drone fitted with a video camera in Lutyens’ Delhi. ‘Locked And Loaded’: Donald Trump Vows To Respond To Saudi Oil Attack

In a first, US President Donald Trump on Sunday hinted at a potential American military response to the drone attack on Saudi oil infrastructure. He said that the US is "locked and loaded" to respond to the attack. The US has accused Iran of masterminding attack. Taking to Twitter, Trump tweeted: "Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!"
