A group of armed miscreants on Thursday beheaded a 60-year-old BJP leader in Bihar's Darbhanga district over a land dispute, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said on Friday. Earlier, there were reports that the party worker was murdered for naming a town square 'Narendra Modi chowk'.
"Totally false that murder in Darbhanga was for naming Modi Chawk. Case of land dispute. Board was put long back, Murder has nothing to do with Board," Sushil Modi tweeted on Friday night.

"As a senior citizen, my father went to them to explain the situation but he was beheaded with a sword. When my elder brother intervened, there was a murderous assault on him," Ramchandra's son Tej Narayan said.
According to Tej, one of his brothers was also killed two years ago after they put up a picture of Narendra Modi at the chowk.
"The attackers were supporters of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), who abused the Prime Minister," Tej added further.
Talking about the reason behind the attack he said the party was upset to witness a Modi square in the place, which is a stronghold of RJD.
