GJM chief Bimal Gurung on Sunday said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been spreading lies that the agitation in Darjeeling hills was supported by insurgent groups.
Gurung also asserted that the fight for a separate Gorkhaland would only be intensified.
Terming the agitation as deep-rooted conspiracy, the Chief Minister on Saturday said that the GJM-led agitation in Darjeeling hills is supported by insurgent groups of Northeast states and some other countries.

In an audio-visual statement, Gurung said, “The allegations are baseless, Mamata Banerjee is trying to mislead people. It is not a political fight but a fight for our own identity. We will not stop until and unless Gorkhaland is achieved. The struggle will intensify in the hills.”
The agitation has been taking place in the state for the past 10 days and Darjeeling on Saturday witnessed some widespread clashes between GJM activists and the police. In the clashes, one person was killed and 35 security personnel were injured.
