The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), after having rehabilitated two acid attack victims by offering them employment, has now rehabilitated two girls from After Care Home of Nirmal Chhaya by employing them as Multi Task Staff (MTS).
Both the girls are orphans, separated from their families very early in their lives. One of the girls, kavita (name changed) who is 21 years old now, has spent her entire life in the children home of Nirmal Chhaya since she was 8 years old and got separated from her mother at a railway station. She pursued her studies while living in the shelter home and is presently pursuing her BA in Political Science. She inspires to be a computer teacher in future.
Another girl named Poonam (name changed) who is 22 years old, shares a similar story as Seema. She, also, got separated from her parents and has stayed in a shelter home in Sant Nagar since her early childhood. Poonam has recently passed class12th board examination.
“DCW had contacted After Care Home of Nirmal Chhaya to find out if there were any girls who were eligible for the role of MTS who could be employed and thereby rehabilitated. The Home then referred these two names,” said DCW chief Swati Maliwal.
