Due to MCD elections, the Delhi Development Authority Housing Scheme 2017 is scheduled to launch in May.
Under this scheme, people will be provided with 13,148 flats. The urban body has tied up with 10 banks for sale of application forms and scheme-related transactions.
The DDA officials pointed out that out of those flats 11,544 flats were brought under 2014 housing scheme. They are also included this time. The new scheme provides 11,671 single room flats.
Out of the total number of flats, most of them in Rohini, Dwarka, Narela, Vasant Kunj and Jasola, 10,000 unoccupied flats are from the 2014 scheme, while 2,000 are other flats which have been lying vacant.
The official says that the work on the flats are almost completed and after it's completion brochure shall be distributed very soon.

“About 10,000 are LIG flats from 2014 DDA scheme. Unlike EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category last time, in this scheme there would be no such category,” the official said.
For LIG category the registration fee would be Rs 1 lakh while for MIG and HIG it would be Rs 2 lakh.
Under the scheme, 79 flats in HIG category, 537 in Janta flats category, 398 in MIG and 563 in EWS category have been preserved.
The previous flats included, are re-developed under the present scheme also in order to sell the flats no such lock-in period has been set.
