Declare cow National Animal of India, demands Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Chief Maulana Arshad Madni

Prophet has stated that cow meat brings disease while cow milk is beneficial and cow ghee is medicinal, hence in India's interest I urge the Government of India to make cow the national animal,” said Umer Iliyasi, leading Muslim cleric. (ANI)

Maulana Arshad Madni, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind on Tuesday demanded that cow is declared the National Animal of India. The move, said Madni, would ensure the safety and security of both the cow and Indians.

“Do one thing, make a law to declare cow the national animal, this way both cows and human lives will be safe. This will be useful for the country,” said Madni.

“It is a good initiative and coming from the Muslim community it'll be in country's interest. Prophet has stated that cow meat brings disease while cow milk is beneficial and cow ghee is medicinal, hence in India's interest I urge the Government of India to make cow the national animal,” said Umer Iliyasi, leading Muslim cleric.

Reacting to Owaisi's demand of prosecution for those who call Indian Muslims Pakistani Iliyasi said, “If anyone speaks against the country or says anything that harms the nation, a law should be made on it and strict action should be taken because nation always comes first.”
