Delhi BJP taunts Kejriwal's three-day ultimatum to Centre over demonetisation as it fizzles out even before taking off

The Delhi BJP on Monday taunted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying his three-day ultimatum to the Centre over demonetisation has “fizzled out” even before taking off.

On November 17, Kejriwal had said,”The government must roll back the demonetisation decision in three days. Otherwise there will be revolt.”

Satish Upadhyay, BJP’s Delhi chief, claimed the traders of the city have rejected the AAP’s “strike call” over the issue.

“The AAP’s trade wing tried to mobilise traders and disrupt business. But their provocations have been emphatically rejected by people. Kejriwal should quit or call fresh polls,” Upadhyay told a press conference.

AAP termed it as baseless, saying it never backed any bandh.

AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai tweeted, “AAP, CPI(M), TMC, JD(U), Congress, none of the opposition parties have given call for a Bharat Bandh, I wonder who’s given the call? RSS??”.

Starting December 1, Kejriwal will address a series of rallies across India, including one in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, taking his fight against demonetisation to the masses.
