Bureaucrats including Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash have agreed to meet Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers only if assured no physical or verbal assault during the meeting by the AAP supremo.
The meeting between bureaucrats and ministers to be held on Tuesday evening prior to the Delhi budget would be the first since Anshu Prakash was allegedly slapped by AAP lawmakers in a midnight meeting at Kejriwal’s residence last week.
Since the attack the bureaucrats in Delhi had severely curtailed their work hours and have been boycotting meeting with ministers in protest the alleged attack on Delhi chief secretary.
Anshu Prakash in a letter to Kejriwal confirmed his presence in the meeting and wrote, “This is based on the presumption that the CM will ensure there’s no physical attack or verbal assault.”
The Budget Session of the Delhi Assembly will be held from March 16.
The Delhi Chief Minister last week had filed a complaint against two AAP lawmakers and had accused them of assaulting him. He had said, “The attack happened in presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.”
Delhi Police in connection to the assault have arrested two AAP lawmakers — Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal.
AAP leaders have been denying the assault.
