The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) should be dismissed and the President's rule should be imposed in the national capital, following the alleged assault on the Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.
Delhi Police had arrested Prakash Jarwal on Tuesday night, with Amantullah Khan, member of the AAP, being arrested on Wednesday afternoon. The police had produced both the lawmakers in the court amid tight security on Wednesday.
As per reports, the two legislators first abused the Chief Secretary and then assaulted him in the presence of the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The case is also likely to be taken up with President Ram Nath Kovind after the report has been submitted to Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The members of the Indian Administrative Services Association (IAS Association) had met the Home Minister on Tuesday, after the incident into light and sought for a meeting with the President. Rajnath Singh is likely to meet the BJP President Amit Shah over the whole issue.
AAP leader Ashutosh saying that Anshu Prakash had not produced any evidence in the case against the two arrested legislators. Reports say that the Lieutenant Governor’s report over the case is also backed up by the medical report which found injury marks on the Chief Secretary’s face.
The Home Ministry will examine the report first, and then forward it to the President office, meanwhile taking an appropriate action.

Both Amantullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal were sent to police custody on Wednesday night.
Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari told a leading daily, “The MLC (medico-legal case) report has found a bruise on the lower lip and swelling behind the ears. It is clear from the report that chief secretary Anshu Prakash was beaten up by AAP legislators. Such anarchy cannot be tolerated; the AAP government must be dismissed and Presidents rule should be imposed in Delhi.”
The Congress, on the other hand, opposed the idea of imposing Presidents rule. Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken said, “It would be another form of anarchy to dismiss an elected government. We are not in favour of Presidents rule. Any unruly behavior by AAP MLAs and ministers must be dealt with strictly but that cannot be the excuse for dismissing the government. An elected government should only be removed by the public.”
The BJP, however, is going on an all-out offensive against the Kejriwal government, saying they will not allow AAP MLAs or workers to move out of their houses. Tiwari said, “The CM and deputy CM must own responsibility for the anarchy in the Capital.”
Top bureaucrats on Tuesday said that they would boycott meetings called by Kejriwal and his cabinet colleagues until the CM apologised.
