Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit has dissolved all the 280 block Congress committees with immediate effect. Earlier, Sheila Dikshit had submitted a memorandum to LG, stating that the capital had witnessed a spurt in heinous crime in the past few days, but the Delhi Police was "standing as a mute witness".
A delegation of Delhi Congress president Sheila Dikshit and party's three working presidents Haroon Yusuf, Rajesh lilothiya, and AK Walia, conducted an hour-long discussions with the L-G. The delegation expressed concern over worsening law and order situation in Delhi, according to a statement issued by the Delhi Congress.
The Lt Governor assured that wherever the law and order situation is weak, steps have already been taken to rectify it and things would improve very quickly, Dikshit told reporters after the meeting. "We expressed concern over the issue of rising crime. Our meeting has been satisfactory and the Lt Governor has assured that he will take strict action on this," Dikshit added.
