New Delhi: Fighting for life the brave Delhi girl who was gang raped in a moving bus four days ago is recovering but still on ventilator. The doctor MS BD Athani of Safdarjung hospital on Thursday held a press conference where she informed that the victim is still in ICU. Here are the key points of the medical bulletin released today.

  • The girl underwent the operation fairly well and is stable now.
  • In the morning, a team of doctors reviewed her condition.
  • Her vital parameters are in acceptable limits.
  • Her lowering  count of RBC and  platelate is a concern.The platlate count as of morning is 41000.
  • She is making attempts to breath on her own and is explaining things by gesturing and scribling on paper.
  • She is conscious and alert but not able to speak due to a tube that is inserted down her throat. 
  • Dr mishra has joined the team of doctors and will be treating her for trauma.
  • Only two surgeries have been performed so far.
  • The girl is not out of danger and it cannot be predicted as to what kind of life she will have ahead.
  • Her intestines have been ruptured very badly and there are injury marks all over her body.
  • Kidney, heart and brain are working fine and the ventilator support have been reduced.
  • Now, she is completely on intra venus feed (IVF).
  • The girl has immense fighting spirit, as she has sustained this kind of injury.
  • Dr jain also said that he hasn't seen such unusual case of injury in  his 30 years of career. 
  • No bleeding as of now, her recovery process duration cannot be determined and immediate concern is to save and get her out of ICU.
  • She is on 24 hours monitoring and coming 6-7 days are quite important for her.  

 

Notably, the victim, whose name is being withheld, was brutally assaulted in a moving bus Sunday night. Her male friend who tried to save her was beaten by the rapists. Both were dumped by the roadside after some 40 minutes. Police have arrested four of the six suspects and are looking for the two who are on the run.
