NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal today launched the revamped version of the ‘One Delhi’ app, an all-in-one mobile app to navigate public transport in Delhi. The app was inaugurated by Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot and Vice Chairperson, Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi, Shri Jasmine Shah. The app is available on both Android and iOS devices. The ‘One Delhi’ app was envisioned nearly 2 years back by Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot to provide a one-stop shop to address many challenges with accessing the public transport system in Delhi, particularly to provide more reliable and convenient bus services for the people. The major reasons for people not taking a bus for their city travel are lack of knowledge about bus routes and lack of adherence to the time schedule of buses owing to traffic jams. It leads to unreliability while planning one’s travel, unlike metro services which are available at good frequency. Delhi Government’s primary objective has been to make the bus services more reliable via the ‘One Delhi’ app, with the provision of features like live tracking of over 7300 buses, and finding the exact waiting time of the buses at the bus stop. On top of it, the information on each bus route will enable people to plan their journey to their offices or home in a more reliable manner. The mobile app has been developed by the Delhi government in collaboration with Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi.
The salient features of the One Delhi App Bus Routes and Bus stop information:
One can search live buses on 500+ bus routes in Delhi, and locate their nearest bus stops to plan their journey. Know the arrival time of the buses at any bus stop on a real-time basis Online Ticket: Buy an E-ticket(s) or Daily pass(es) from the comfort of your seat and get a 10% discount on Online Bus tickets. Women passengers can buy free Pink tickets via the app. Find an Electric vehicle charger & Battery swapping station near you: Discover from 2200+ Charging points in Delhi, Locate your nearby EV Charging Points, and find Real-time Availability and Cost per unit of the EV Chargers Feedback/Grievance portal: If you have any complaints in regard to the Bus, be it related to Driver, Conductor, Marshall, Cleanliness of the Bus, Overspeeding or for Bus Queue Shelters and EV chargers, one can “Raise a Complaint” via One Delhi app. This is just the beginning. Delhi govt’s bigger plan with One Delhi app is to enable services under Multimodal transportation in the city. One platform to book a bus, taxi, Auto or a cycle with an ease of single click. On this occasion, Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot said, “Under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi government's vision has always been to make Public travel more Convenient, Affordable, Reliable, and Safer for the citizens of Delhi. With the launch of All in one Public Transport ‘One Delhi’ app today, it will make Bus travel more Reliable and help in better planning of your city travel. The project was the outcome of 3 years of collaboration between many departments and agencies, like the Transport Department, Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDC), IIIT Delhi, Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). I thank DDC for playing the crucial role of ensuring coordination and collaboration across various partners.” Shri Kailash Gahlot further said, “I request the people to share their feedback and any grievances on the app to help us keep improving our services across Public Transport. Delhi is committed to make the lives of people even more convenient by enabling the booking of more modes of travel under the One Delhi app, in the coming times.” Vice Chairperson of DDC, Shri Jasmine Shah said, “Today's launch of the revamped One Delhi App marks the beginning of a new era in public transport in Delhi. Delhi has today become the first Indian city to provide live tracking of all its 7300+ buses and 2200+ EV chargers, just like major cities globally. Technologically, it was a complex project and also required the involvement of multiple agencies. I am glad DDC could support the entire end-to-end process from the conceptualisation to the implementation of this app. The launch of the ONE DELHI app also reflects the commitment of the Delhi Government to set new benchmarks in public transport and in its efforts to fight Delhi's air pollution." CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal later tweeted, “After revolutionising Delhi’s education and health, an important step has been taken today towards making Delhi's transport system world-class. Through 'One Delhi' mobile app, you can live track all buses, book bus tickets and daily passes online, share your feedback, and get all information related to Electric Vehicle chargers.”
