The Delhi High Court rejected rape convict Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan’s anticipatory bail plea on Tuesday.

The court in its order observed that the applicant (Honeypreet) is just seeking more time by moving such an application.

The Prosecution lawyer talking to media said, “The court stated that she does not deserve bail because she is evading arrest.”

The Delhi High Court in its observation also said, “The plea was filed in Delhi to buy time and delay proceeding in Haryana.”

Earlier in the day the court had asked the Honeypreet’s counsel to produce documents showing proof that a property in Delhi belonged to her or anyone connected to her.

Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal also asked,  why the 36-year-old Honeypreet was seeking transit anticipatory bail for three weeks.

Sehgal further said, “The easiest way out is that she should surrender.”

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday was hearing the anticipatory bail plea of Honeypreet, who approached the court on Monday saying that she is ready to cooperate in the probe.
