A man on Monday committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Azadpur Metro station in New Delhi. The suicide caused delay in services of various trains on yellow line of Delhi Metro.
The suicide affected many passengers on yellow line as it happened during early morning office hours. Many people got late to work due to the suicide on Delhi Metro station.
The man who committed suicide is yet to be identified. Police have initiated investigation into the incident.
The suicide is not first on any Metro line in New Delhi. Many cases of suicides have been witnessed on Delhi Metro tracks.
As per the data of CISF, a total of 88 cases of attempt to suicide has been witnessed on Delhi Metro lines in 2016. 12 people have lost their lives by jumping in front of Metro train in Delhi.
11 people have been saved by CISF while they were attempting suicide. The commuters have saved lives of 20 people who were committing suicide on Delhi Metro lines.
