A 33-year-old man was arrested by Delhi Metro security personnel from Adarsh Nagar metro station with several rounds of bullet, said police on Monday.
Police said, “Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawans arrested a man hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Muradabad on late Sunday. They recovered around 20 live cartridges from his possessions.â€
The man, identified as Ganga Ram, came to meet a relative with his friend and his wife when they were detained during the checking by CISF personnel. Ram claimed that he had a license for the arms but failed to produce a hard copy of his claiming.
Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Metro Police, Pankaj Kumar Singh, said, “He told us that he would produce the hard copy but it needs to be verified and checked as to why he was carrying the cartridges. A case, therefore, has been registered under section 25/54 of the Arms Act and an investigation is underway.â€
