A female law student from Arunachal Pradesh has claimed that she was asked to pay Rs 300 to enter Jama Masjid in New Delhi when others were not charged anything.
The girl named Niyang Pertin posted posted a video of the incident on her Facebook account. Following the post, Union minister Kiren Rijiju said on Saturday that he would look into the matter.
In her post, Pertin repeatedly mentioned that the amount she had to cough up was "not the problem" but the "case of discrimination" was. Even an intervention by the police did not deter the masjid authorities from asking for money, she alleged.
