A 29-year-old Delhi Police constable committed suicide by shooting himself by his service pistol at Daryaganj police station premises on Wednesday.

Police said that the constable shot himself with his pistol inside the barracks within the police station premises.

The deceased has been identified as Amit Khokhar.

A senior police officer said, police personnel rushed to his barrack as they heard bullet sound.

“On seeing the injured constable they rushed him to the hospital for treatment but doctors declared him brought dead,” a senior police personnel not willing to be identified said.

He added no suicide note was found from the barrack.

The officer further said that the deceased was doing good and showed no signs of depression.

The deceased had joined the Delhi Police in 2009 and hailed from Baghpat.
