Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and his cabinet colleague Kapil Mishra were detained by the police on Tuesday during their protest march towards the Parliament building.

The Aam Aadmi Party had organised the march to protest against Centre’s demonetisation move that scrapped high-denomination notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 on November 8. The leaders had decided to gherao the Parliament building.

The protestors had assembled at Jantar Mantar and started their march prompting police to detain Sisodia and Mishra.

The party opposed the decision with chief minister Arvind Kejriwal calling it an eight lakh crore scam.
