Demonetisation protest: Congress-led opposition to observe November 8 as Black Day

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday said 18 opposition parties would observe November 8 as Black Day to mark their protest against demonetisation which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year on the very same day.

While addressing a press conference in the national capital, Azad said demonetisation is a scam of the century. He said Congress president Sonia Gandhi has constituted a coordination committee of six parties.

Azad said the government made 135 changes since demonetisation was implemented and several people lost their lives.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Derek O Brien said that all opposition parties will question the government, and would observe November 8 as Black Day.

When asked about the appointment of interlocutor on Kashmir, he said Union Home Minister should have said that who are the stakeholders.
