With the dip in mercury after the latest spell of rains, the national capital witnessed thick blanket of fog in the region.

Residents of Delhi and NCR woke up to a cold and chilly morning with a layer of dense fog engulfing the area and resulting in severe disturbance to the transportation system.

Due to heavy fog, 20 trains have arrived late, 2 have been rescheduled and another one train is canceled due to other operational reasons. While 8 domestic flights 2 international flights have been delayed.

The minimum temperature in the National Capital Region dropped 3 degree Celsius to 11 degrees to record a chilly start to the day on Saturday morning. The minimum temperature on Friday recorded at 14 degrees.

The Humidity level was recorded 95 per cent at 7:30 AM in the morning with old winds flowing at 6/km an hour generally troubled the residents.
