Haryana Police made raids to arrest Honeypreet Insaan — Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh’s ‘adopted daughter’ — in at least seven states and even in neighbouring country, Nepal, but all the while she was hiding under the nose of the state police.
Honeypreet on Tuesday was arrested by the Haryana Police hardly 25 kilometers from Chandigarh. She was arrested from Zirakpur, an adjoining city to Panchkula.
The Dera chief’s ‘adopted daughter’ during questioning told the Haryana Police that she was hiding in Bhatinda, around 230 kilometers from Chandigarh.
Haryana Police has also detained a woman, who helped Honeypreet evade arrest since her name first erupted as an accused for inciting violence in Panchkula and adjoining areas on August 25, the day when CBI court convicted the Dera chief for raping two of his convicts.
“A lady has confirmed that Honeypreet was with her for the last many days in location in Bathinda district,” said Panchkula Police Commissioner to the media.
