New Delhi:

Founder of Art of living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who has been attempting to work out a negotiated settlement to the vexed Ram Temple- Babri Masjid issue, on Sunday took part in the 'Dharmadesh', the two-day meeting of Hindu seers at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.

Pitching for the construction of Ram Temple at the disputed land of Ayodhya, Ravi Shankar said, " We must find a way for Ram Temple. Ram Temple is people's wish and it should be fulfilled".

Terming the Government's ordinance route the last option in the issue, Sri Sri Said, "Talks between the parties is the first option to solve the matter". The Supreme Court verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case, which has been deferred to the first week of January, 2019, is the second option to deal with the decade old socio-political debate in Ayodhya, he added.

Apart from Ravi Shankar, Akhil Bhartiya Sant Samiti chief Jagadguru Hansdevacharya and other top Hindu saints attended the two-day Dharmadesh meeting.

Over 3,000 saints, who assembled at Talkatora Stadium for national integration, passed a resolution on Ram Temple, saying that there will be "no more talks or compromise" regarding the matter. "Make law or bring ordinance," the seers claimed.

Wading into the Ram Mandir debate, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev said, "If the apex court doesn't take a decision soon, then Parliament is the highest institution in a democracy and there is nothing wrong in bringing a legislation".

The 'Dharmadesh', which started on Saturday morning came a day after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday threatened to launch a 1992-like temple agitation to ensure the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Besides this, the cow vigilantes who died in front of the parliament in 1996 will also be paid tribute, RSS General Secretary Bhaiyaji Joshi said.

"In the second session, the missionaries who have been following different ways for conversion will put forth their points and proposal will be kept against Ponga babas in this session," he said.

"Third session will take place on November 4, where big saints like Sri Sri will give their viewpoint on Sabarimala and Ram Mandir issue. The same will be done keeping in mind the emotions of the saints" Joshi added.
