The Aryana Kand in the Hindu epic ‘The Ramayana’ is divided into two parts, i.e. Aryanya Kand - Part 1 and Aranya Kand - Part 2. From Lord Rama’s meeting with boatman Kevat to Mother Sita getting mesmerised after seeing golden deer were shown in the first part. Now, this part will tell you about Maricha’s killing by Lord Rama and how demon Ravana kidnapped Sita.
Lord Rama followed the deer deep into the jungles. Finally, Rama killed it and freed the spirit of the demon named Mareech.
Back at the hut, a worried Sita urged Lakshmana to go and check if Lord Ram was alright. Before leaving, Laksham drew a protective boundary around Sita to ensure her safety.
Once Sita was alone, Ravan dressed as a sage and asked her for bheeksha. Sita had to cross the Laskhmana rekha on his request. Just as she did, Ravana came back into his original avatar and kidnapped her in his pushpak vimaan.
Hearing Sita's cry, Jatayu tried to save her by fighting Ravan but he was finally defeated by the demon king, who escaped with Lord Rama's wife to Lanka.
