Diwali or Deepavali is being celebrated on Thursday all over the country. Diwali is one of the most popular festivals celebrated by Hindus and other communities. Devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi and Kali on this day. The Lakshmi Mantra is recited to know your goal and as a means to fructify that goal. Lakshmi Mantra is synonymously also called Money Mantra.
According to Hindu tradition, it is believed that on this day Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman returned to Ayodhya, after 14 years of exile. To celebrate the return of Lord Ram, it is said that the whole of Ayodhya was lit up with diyas.
Also, it is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu married Goddess Laksmi. Many also believe that Goddess Lakshmi was born on the day, and celebrate it as Diwali or Deepavali.
On this day people worship Mahakali or Goddess Shakti whole day long. According to mythology, Goddess Kali defeated and killed Narakasura. This is also considered as the victory of good over evil. Choti Diwali is an important day during the Diwali festival and for all Hindus.
