DNA sample of 10-year-old Chandigarh rape survivor’s baby didn’t match with her uncle, who is charged with raping her, Police said.
After the DNA report, the police have reopened the case and started another round of investigation.
She had alleged her maternal uncle of raping her repeatedly for several months and according to the police, the accused had admitted the crime. The report now also raises questions that whether she was also abused by others as well.
"So far no-one had thought of any other possibility. The girl had testified to the court on video conferencing and in her statement, she had very clearly named the uncle and revealed facts about her abuse," the BBC quoted an investigator as saying.

The police have also visited the family again to speak to the victim, her mother, however, said that they do not suspect anyone else.
The police will also re-check the DNA report to verify there was no error while preparing the report.
The 10-year-old rape victim gave birth to a child after the Supreme Court denied her permission to end her pregnancy on health grounds.
The girl was not aware of her delivery and she was told by her parents that there is a stone inside her stomach and she needs to be operated for that.
Victim's father and mother didn’t even saw the face of the child and requested the authorities to put up the new born for adoption.
