President Trump To Be Served Gujarati Delicacies In Ahmedabad, Menu Includes Only Veg Items

Preparations are in full swing to welcome US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, who are scheduled to land in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on February 24. In their short stay in Ahmedabad, President Trump and his wife Melania Trump will be served Gujarati delicacies such as Khaman and multigrain rotis. Chef Suresh Khanna from Fortune Landmark Hotel, who has been made in-charge of the dishes to be prepared on Trump's visit, said special arrangements have been made for the US President.

“Special Khaman is being prepared as US President and First Lady Melania Trump like Khaman a lot. Menu includes only veg items; it'll be cooked in Gujarati style. Food inspectors will be tasting food first, then after a thorough check it will be served to guests”, Suresh Khanna said.

Khanna added, “The menu includes local Gujarati food items such as Khaman and special Gujarati ginger tea, broccolian-corn samosa, ice-tea, green tea and multi-grain cookies; it has been approved by the concerned dept. Preparations are underway.”

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India looks forward to welcoming the US President.

“India looks forward to welcoming @POTUS @realDonaldTrump. It is an honour that he will be with us tomorrow, starting with the historic programme in Ahmedabad (sic),” Modi wrote on Twitter.

Trump is set to be accorded the biggest public reception given to any foreign leader in years in India. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to gather in Modi's political hometown of Ahmedabad to greet Trump for a road show leading to a rally in a cricket stadium with a capacity of over 100,000.
