New Delhi:

United States President Donald Trump on Sunday embarked on his maiden two-day visit to India. Before his departure from Andrews Air Force Base, US President Donald Trump said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is his 'friend' and he is looking forward to visit India. He will arrive at the Ahmedabad International Airport on Monday, where he’ll be given guard of honour. President Trump will become the seventh American President, after Dwight D Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Barack Obama, to visit the country. It is expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will receive Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump at the Ahmedabad airport.

Trump's Jam-Packed Schedule

Accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, the US President will begin the nearly 36-hour-long trip with a visit to the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also accompany Trump to the Ashram, which is closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi and India’s freedom struggle.

The US President along with PM Modi will address the 'Namaste Trump' event which is likely to be attended by mammoth crowd of more than 100,000 people at the Motera Stadium in Ahemdabad.

Trump will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including First Lady Melania Trump, the President's daughter Ivanka Trump, son-in-law Jared Kushner and a galaxy of top US officials.

From Ahmedabad, the US President and the First Lady will move to Agra where they will visit the Taj Mahal at around 5:15 pm.

Later in the day, the US president will depart for the national capital for the main leg of the 36-hour long trip.

On Wednesday, Trump will be given a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and then he will go to Rajghat to pay homage at the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi.

The US President will then hold both- restricted and delegation-level talks- with PM Modi at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi. Trump will meet President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital at 7:30 pm before leaving for the United States by his special flight on the night of February 25.

From Ahemedabad To Delhi: Unprecedented Security For Trump's Visit

Ahead of mega 'Namaste Trump' event, the western part of Ahmedabad has been turned into virtual fortress with 10,000 security personnel deployed at almost every nook and corner leading to Motera cricket stadium Moreover, Ahmedabad Police detained some persons after combing operations were launched ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to the city.

The Ahmedabad Police has also requested the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the anti-drone system and the public at large is directed not to use drones for any purpose.

ITC Maurya, the hotel where US President Donald Trump will check-in on Monday, has been brought under an unprecedented security cover with anti-sabotage teams involving the Army and paramilitary conducting checks on the routes to be taken by the visiting dignitary. Security agencies are also working in close coordination with the US Secret Service, officials said.

Vegetarian cuisine For President Trump In Ahmedabad

In their short stay in Ahmedabad, President Trump and his wife Melania Trump will be served Gujarati delicacies such as Khaman and multigrain rotis.

Chef Suresh Khanna from Fortune Landmark Hotel, who has been made in-charge of the dishes to be prepared on Trump's visit, said special arrangements have been made for the US President.
