India and the US on Tuesday finalised defence deals worth USD 3 billion, and signed three MoUs, including one in energy sector, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the two countries have decided to take Indo-US ties to comprehensive global partnership level. The unprecedented and historic welcome given to Trump in India will be remembered, said Modi at a joint press meet with Trump and added that the relations between the two countries are not merely confined to governments but are people-driven. The relations between the two countries have never been as good as they are now, Trump said, adding that the countries have made "wonderful deal".
US President Donald Trump is in national capital on Tuesday on the second day of his 36-hour visit to India. After sharing the stage for the 'Namaste Trump' event on Monday, the US President met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today for extensive talks aimed at expanding India-US global partnership. The restricted and delegation-level talks between Trump and Modi were held at Hyderabad House.

Earlier on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The US president was then accorded a tri-services guard of honour at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Trump's daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and several top officials of the US administration were also present at the ceremony. The Trumps then visited Rajghat to pay homage at the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. Meanwhile, Melania Trump interacted with students at a Delhi government school and witnessed various activities as part of the 'happiness curriculum'.
US President Donald Trump, who arrived in India on Monday, was given a red-carpet welcome in Ahmeadabad. Trump and Modi addressed almost one lakh people at the world's largest cricket stadium in the “Namaste Trump” event.

After the talks at Hyderabad House, Prime Minister Modi hosted a lunch for the US President. The US President and First Lady will be hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in evening before returning home.

US President Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania would be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday morning. The Trumps will then visit Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
President Trump will then hold restricted and delegation-level talks with PM Modi at Hyderabad House. Prime Minister Modi would also host a lunch for the US president after the talks.
Trump is expected to attend certain private events at the US embassy, including a roundtable with industry representatives, in the afternoon.
In the evening, the US president will meet President Ram Nath Kovind and attend a grand banquet for select guests at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Trump will depart from India later in the evening.
