External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Napalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba attended “India at 70” event in Kathmandu on Friday.
At the event, Sushma said that during the 70 years of Independent India, it has never happened that transfer of power was achieved through bullet, rather it was always done through ballot.
"Democratic pattern has arrived in Nepal, we all wish for its success. We wish that Nepal should progress, and want to contribute into that. Our slogan of "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas" is for entire region," said Sushma.
Sushma arrived in Nepal on Thursday for a two- day visit. She participated in a BIMSTEC ministerial meeting at a time when India is pushing for a larger role for the regional grouping.
Sushma's visit came just ahead of Napalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s trip to India beginning on August 23.
Officials said Swaraj is expected to discuss bilateral relations and take stock of the latest political developments in Nepal to set the tone for Deuba’s visit.
