Four terrorists were killed on Saturday morning in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces on Saturday morning launched a cordon and search operation based on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in Hardmand Guri village in Kulgam, a police spokesperson said.
"This operation based on a credible police input. Four terrorists have been killed," he said.
He said weapons and war-like stores were seized from the scene of the encounter.
According to sources, the terrorists were involved in the killing of two civilians in the south Kashmir district on Wednesday night. The two victims were identified as Ghulam Hassan Wagay and Siraj Ahmad Gorse. Both were residents of Nandimarg.
They were fired upon by unidentified gunmen at around 11 pm on Wednesday. "Both the persons, who received critical injuries in the firing, were rushed to a hospital, where they were declared brought dead," they said.
